FEBRUARY BREAKFAST WITH DR. ANTHONY TERRELL, '89
Please join fellow Alumni for breakfast with Dr. Anthony Terrell, Class of 1989, who serves as principal of Mount Vernon High School in Alexandria, Virginia, on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 8:30 am, at the Springfield Golf and Country Club.
Online registration is available until 11:59 pm, Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019. Walk-in attendees will be welcomed at the door. 175 Campaign Members are requested to register in order to have an accurate headcount. Buffet breakfast includes eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits, assorted fruit and pastries, coffee, juice, and tea. Doors open at 8:00. Dress for this event is casual.
Dr. Anthony Terrell serves as principal of Mount Vernon High School in Alexandria, Virginia. He has over nineteen years of experience in Fairfax County Public Schools. Prior to coming to Mount Vernon, he served as principal of Rocky Run Middle School. He also previously served as assistant principal at Fairfax High School and at Cooper Middle School. Prior to becoming a school administrator, he spent eight years teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), first at Stuart High School and later at Pimmit Hills Alternative High School. Between teaching assignments, he worked as a test administration specialist in the Department of Educational Accountability of FCPS. He left FCPS for a brief time to become the first Director of High School Placement for KIPP DC: Key Academy Public Charter School in the Washington, DC. A former naval officer, Dr. Terrell is a Desert Strom and Iraq War veteran. After his active service, he joined the Naval Reserve. He also spent three years as a project manager for computer systems integration consulting firms. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Citadel, a Master of Education in Secondary Education from The George Washington University, and a Ph.D. in Education Leadership from George Mason University. Dr. Terrell is an adjunct professor of Education Leadership at George Mason University and is a proud native of Baltimore, MD.
