20TH ANNUAL ALUMNI MUSTER

The Citadel Club of Greater Washington, D.C. will host the 20th Annual Alumni Muster in observance of the 175th muster of the Corps of Cadets and to honor Alumni who have passed away in the preceding year. This year’s muster is on Wednesday, March 14, at 6:00 pm, at the Springfield Golf & Country Club. We are honored to have Lieutenant Colonel Petra Lovetinska Seipel, USMC, ’00, as our keynote speaker.

Heavy hors d'oeuvres are included and a cash bar will be available. The social begins at 6:00 pm and ceremony at 7:30 pm.

An extended online registration will be available through 6:00 pm, Tuesday, Mar. 13, 2018. 175 Campaign Members are requested to register in order to have an accurate head count. 

Dress and Uniform:

  • Civilians – Business Formal; Coat & Tie
  • Army - Class "A"
  • Marine Corps - Blue Dress "B"
  • Navy - Service Dress Blue
  • Air Force - Service Dress
  • Coast Guard -  Service Dress Blue
  • Cadets - Dress Gray

Active duty, reserve and guard service members, and Cadets are requested to wear their uniforms; covers are not required. 

About the speaker, Lt. Col. Petra Lovetinska Seipel, USMC, ’00:

LtCol Seipel currently serves as the Aviation Outfitting and Allowancing Department Head at the U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Weapon System Support in Philadelphia, PA.    

LtCol Seipel was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia where she lived until she was 14.  When her family moved to the United States, LtCol Seipel attended Woodrow Wilson Senior High School in Washington, DC, where she was a member of the Junior ROTC program. 

In 1996, she attended The Citadel as one of its first female cadets.  She was proudly sponsored by The Citadel Club of Greater Washington.   She graduated from The Citadel in 2000, with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science.   While at The Citadel, she received The Citadel's highest honor for good service, the Palmetto Medal. She received her US Citizenship through an Act of Congress as a senior cadet in order to join the Marines. 

Upon graduation, LtCol Seipel attended the Officer Candidate Course in Quantico, Virginia.  She was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and assigned the 6602 Aviation Supply Officer Military Occupational Specialty.  LtCol Seipel deployed aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard and to Al Asad Air Base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  During her career, she worked at both the tactical level and operational level commands supporting Marine and Naval Aviation.   

LtCol Seipel is married to LtCol Patrick Seipel, USMC of El Paso, Texas and they have two sons: Harley, 7 and Maxwell, 4. During her spare time, LtCol Seipel enjoys a variety of activities ranging from triathlons to crafting. 

LtCol Seipel's personal awards are the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two Gold Stars, and the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one Gold Star. 

She is a graduate of the Expeditionary Warfare School, the Command and Staff Distance Education Program and the Advanced Program in Logistics and Technology course from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.  She earned an MBA from the Naval Postgraduate School and MA in International Relations from Norwich University.

This first issue CCGW challenge coin is available for pre-order. Proceeds from the sale of this two-inch diameter, full color challenge coin will fund club scholarships and charitable activities. Muster participants who select the “coin” option during registration will receive his or her coin when arriving at the muster.
